Melissa’s green thumb and creative energy shape every corner of the gallery. Her styling, handmade goods, and lush plant life give the shop its signature warmth, vibrant, and full of life. Equal parts maker and magician, her knowledge and spirit were instrumental in getting the doors open, and her work continues to infuse the space with intention and beauty.

An Alameda-based herbalist and the creator of Herbal Apothetique, Melissa teaches hands-on herbal classes such as crafting teas, tinctures, oils, room sprays, and natural remedies. Her practice is grounded in plant-based wellness, accessibility, and care. A mother of two and longtime friend of The Fireside Lounge, she is deeply connected to Alameda’s creative and community-centered circles.

At the Collective, Melissa leads workshops that invite people to slow down, learn something tactile, and reconnect with the natural world. Her thoughtful guidance and bright spirit bring a sense of grounding magic to everything she touches.
